CodeX Winter Olympics

Bring a little Olympic flair to your coding lessons with this fun CodeX project! Students kick things off by drawing the iconic Olympic rings and adding the host country and year using graphics, perfect for beginners getting started. Want to raise the bar? The optional extension lets students collect user input and turn medal counts into bar charts, adding a creative twist while exploring data visualization and problem-solving skills. :sports_medal:

Jill- This was fun. Kids had fun being able to explore and change a few numbers, positions, text after they inputted the original code. Great for beginners. Perfect timing on stops for testing. Good for the students to see the functions explicitly, how the calls are important and when to use to test, and how to manipulate to use with the buttons. Do you happen to have the code for any of the extensions ready to show? Thanks much.

Never mind- found the code in the extra text files in the project details.

Thanks.

I’m so glad you and your students found it useful. And I’m glad you found the code for the extensions. They are pretty fun to do, as well.
